According to the official source of the States, since March 11, custom tax allowance for individual importation had increased from $200 to $800. When purchase item from overseas, importation tax is one of taxes due. Therefore this is a great news for the US residents.

I believe that purchasing from overseas will expand more and more. Japan had recently agreed TPP provision and will be able to free trade with over 10 countries in the world.
