Manufactured by Hitachi Metal, HAP40 is a high-speed steel that is usually used in large machinery. Its fine microstructure and excellent hardness are owed to its abundance of tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, and cobalt. It contains 1.27-1.37% carbon and 3.70-4.70% chromium.
