Manufactured by Hitachi Metal, ZDP-189 is a powdered, stainless steel containing 3.0% carbon and 20.0% chromium with added tungsten and molybdenum. This makes it extremely tough while also giving it some serious wear-resistance. It is difficult to sharpen however, due to the hardness of the material.
