Hideo Kitaoka
Né en 1950, Hideo Kitaoka, forgeron, travaille dans le village de Takefu, à Echizen, préfecture de Fukui. Enfant, il a appris son métier auprès de son père à Echizen. Il est réputé pour sa fabrication de couteaux traditionnels à émouture simple et excelle dans divers aciers au carbone. Il est spécialisé dans la production de lames japonaises traditionnelles de haute qualité. En 1980, Echizen a été le premier centre de production de lames forgées à recevoir le label national de Produit d'Artisanat Traditionnel.Caractéristiques:
