Cobalt Special Steel is produced by Takefu Special Steel Company. It contains 1.1% carbon and 16% chromium, giving Cobalt Special incomparable corrosion resistance. Other ingredients include, tungsten to improve tempering resistance, molybdenum to give better rust resistance, and vanadium to allow for a finer microstructure. Cobalt gives additional strength and a long-lasting sharp edge.
